We were lucky enough to get the chance to see what the school was all about. The open which has been evolved since its early begginnings as the VT Open went off this year bigger than ever. With only 12 snowboarders in the contest this event was with no doubt skier dominated. The roster of skiers was completely stacked with athletes coming from as far as oregon to compete. The 3 hour Jam format qualifier featured some of the best slopestyle talent the east coast has to offer. Judges had such an hard time narrowing down finals to 10 riders that they opted to bring 20 athletes to compete in the final round. This is THE Banked Slalom event on the east, and it goes off year after year. Craig Coker and the crew at Big Bear worked hard to make sure this event went off this year. The setup resembled a street skateboarding comp, except 10x larger and built from mammoth piles of snow.  Huge props to Bern riders Giray Dadali and Brendan Trieb for making pro finals, and all the other skiers there that were representing our lids.
