Video Games Event 2013

Our friends at Reel Theory Productions have been extremely busy the past few months. When they aren’t working on the Bern 13/14 Video Program, or following the Rockstar Energy team around the globe they have been hard at work planning the 2013 Video Games event in New England.

The Video Games Event is a unique event format in which team’s compete all day across the whole resort. The Video Games Event doesn’t just award riders, they are also putting an incentive for filmers to come and compete as well. Each day of the competition teams start out with a list of goals, a camera, and their gear. Then they are let free on the on the mountain to produce the most creative edit with the best riding while also checking off all their goals. We’re so excited about the comp that we are forming our own team at Bern HQ.

Prizes, The Best Part! Along with all the great action there will be a stack of great prizes.  Teams will compete for prizes at each stop with a podium consisting of Best Team, Best Rider, Best Grom, and Best Female. Edits from each stop will be rewarded at the following stop. Grand Prize winners must compete in two of the first 3 events to qualify. Teams that compete at 3 stops will have a slight advantage and drop the lowest score for a combined total. The grand prize will be awarded in a two prize packages, one men’s and one women’s.  Winning mens team scored with best edit and most combined points, will win a Team Trip to Puerto Rico for a 4 day 5 night Surf School trip.  Women’s team will win a full sponsorship package from Betty Rides including a private website and catalog shoot, along with video profiles featured and branded for Betty Rides. Betty Rides is the only independently owned women’s brand in the snowboard market and is celebrating their 20 year anniversary. Rincon surf school in Puerto Rico is the longest running and most sought after surf destination in the Caribbean. With a series of prize packages like this who wouldn’t want to compete.

Video Games Event is going down at the following mountains: Wachusett Mountain, MA (Jan 26th), Loon, NH (Feb 9th), Sunday River, ME (Mar 2nd), and Okemo Mountain, VT (Mar 23rd). We’ll see you out there!
