This year they are expanding there pre season Urban Sessions event down to Providence, Rhode Island on December 1st. The Bern crew is excited to be able to get down and sponsor this event. Loaded Turkey Rail Jam

The Bern Marketing team was up at Killington, Vermont this weekend for one of the first rail jams of the year. The Loaded Turkey Jam is a Killington Tradition every year on the weekend before thanksgiving. Bern Team members Giray Dadali and Will Wesson have taken the turkey in past years; but this year it was time for another group of up and comers to compete for the coveted Thanksgiving Turkey.

With over 100 competitors total with the majority being Skiers, this was a great sign of things to come for more competitions on the east this winter. The level of talent in both ski and snowboard really spoke to the progression we are seeing in park riding. I was truly blown away of how hard everyone was throwing down. Look for Bern at all the events at Killington this season. Next up is Rails to Riches, which as you know is not one to miss.

The Wasatch is Going Off!

With over 4 feet of fresh snow this week it is undeniable that the season is off to an amazing start in Utah. A famous Salt Lake effect storm moved in this week leaving tons of snow in both the city and the mountains, which means the Bern team is already busy getting after it. Parker Cook has already been busy in the backcountry on the hunt for the elusive white room. With more runs under his belt than your typical weekend warrior before the lifts even start turning, you can expect a strong season from Mr Cook.

From the Salt Lake Valley to Park City riders Brendan Trieb and Will Wesson were busy checking urban features off their to do list. With an above average amount of snow in Salt Lake City many illusive features became possible, allowing these guys to setup some truly creative stuff. Below is a teaser of whats to come. A big thanks to Ross Downard for tracking these guys down… Check out Ross’ Portfolio, and his brand Mtn Ranks.

SF Bike Expo

Last weekend the fifth annual SF Bike Expo hit the historic Cow Palace in San Francisco, for one of the most comprehensive and unique bike events in the world. Unlike the traditional expo this show does not just feature a maze of exhibitors, it also features just about every bike event you can think of from Bike Polo to Dirt Jumps, its all going off at the SF Bike Expo.

Bern was excited to be able to sponsor the Bike Polo tournament aka The Ball Wreckers Ball this year, featuring some of the best talent from the west coast. In addition, Bern was setup with a booth with SF Bike Ambassador Miranda Carr spreading the word about our helmets. A big congratulations goes out to Reece Wallace as well for taking fourth place overall in the AT Showdown.

If you live in Northern California and love bikes, do not miss this show next year. This is hands down one of the best bike events we’ve ever been a part of. Big shout out to Ride SFO for making this happen year after year. Thanks to Danielle Baker for the great photos. (make sure you check out her portfolio)

Chicago Bicycling Ambassadors

This past summer Bern got involved with Chicago’s Bicycling Ambassadors. The organization has been around for eleven years promoting bicycle use and safety in the city of Chicago. The program has an impressive reach and has been able to make a serious impact in one of the largest cities in the country. This summer the ambassadors were able to directly educate over 60,000 people at 515 different events, and properly fit over 1,000 people with bicycle helmets. In addition to promoting safety the organization also promoted commuting alternatives to 50 local businesses. We are proud to support the Chicago Bicycling ambassadors, and thrilled to announce that our helmets travled over 2,000 miles around chicago on the heads of these folks. Bern looks forward to supporting this program in the future, and helping promote even more bicycle use in Chicago!

Bern’s Nor’easter Party

A big thanks to everyone for coming out to our annual Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo this year at the Cask N Flagon. Based on the attendance and the hangover the next day I would say that everyone had an amazing time. A special thanks to all the sponsors that helped make this one of the best parties ever: Vitamin Water, Steez Magazine, Snowriders, Nixon, The Main Event, TGR, and The Boston Pheonix. Big shout out to Social Pix for running the photo booth all night so we have some photographic evidence of what went down.
